Have you heard of the "French paradox"? It is the observation that, in general, many French people eat sweets, smoke, drink, eat cheese and lots of bread, and even fried foods…yet they have a lower incidence of heart disease and strokes than Americans. In the words of Dr. Mike Buch from stage at our 2019 Young Living International Grand Convention, "Why is it that they get to have all the fun and we die first?!"
Many health researchers believe the French paradox has a lot to do with their Mediterranean diet. French people do eat fat and starch, but if you really look at their main meals, you’ll see that they primarily eat foods that are rich in monounsaturated fatty acids and antioxidants.
Now if you look closely at the photos you’ll see one thing in common…do you see it? It is this: olives and olive oil. The health benefits of olive oil have been known for years, and you can find hundreds of anecdotal accounts and studies online about olive oil, each with a somewhat different “twist”. Unfortunately, world regulatory and health authorities have been slow to approve claims but they are beginning to find some consensus. Most regulatory agencies now agree that olive oil supports cardiovascular health.
EFSA, the European Food Safety Authority, goes into a bit more detail and states that olive oil polyphenols contribute to the protection of blood lipids from oxidative stress. Oxidized blood lipids, particularly oxidized Low Density Lipoproteins (LDL), are the molecules that can lead to cardiovascular disease because they tend to cause inflammation of the blood vessels. Scientists have found that THE major polyphenol in olives and olive oil is a compound called hydroxytyrosol.
Hydroxytyrosol is one of the strongest antioxidants found in nature. To get enough hydroxytyrosol in our diets, we should all be consuming lots of olive oil every day. But that’s not easy and may have some pretty unpleasant side effects! But our scientific team at Young Living found a much better alternative! We found a proprietary process that uses water to extract hydroxytyrosol from olives naturally. The result is Olive Essentials! An easy to swallow plant-based capsule that contains the same amount of hydroxytyrosol as 1 full liter of olive oil.
Let me repeat that: One little Olive Essentials capsule has as much of that powerful polyphenol as the two 500 milliliter bottles of olive oil shown in the photo. On the Supplement Facts you’ll see that there are a full 20 milligrams (mg) of hydroxytyrosol in each capsule, in addition to our exclusive OliveEssentials blend consisting of olive fruit extract, olive leaf extract, parsley leaf oil and rosemary leaf oil. Here are the claims we can make on Olive Essentials:
❤ Contains potent antioxidants
❤
 Promotes internal cleansing
❤
 Supports a healthy immune system
❤
 Supports a healthy heart
❤
 Promotes total body wellness.
Let me point out some other facts about Olive Essentials: It is high purity because the hydroxytyrosol is extracted from olives with a patented technology that uses only water.
It is Halal and Kosher certified.
It is GRAS certified, which means Generally Recognized As Safe.
And it is non-GMO.
Young Living is bringing the power of olives to your diet in a quick and convenient capsule. Olive Essentials uses essentialoils and hydroxytyrosol, the polyphenol found in Spanish olives—to support your total body wellness. And if there is any doubt that these little capsules are not powerful, let me leave you with this image: one bottle of Olive Essentials contains as much of the key polyphenol in olives as 60 bottles of olive oil!
Olive Essentials …one capsule everyday to support your overall well-being, including a healthy heart and strong immune system!
